Basketball Free Throw

of C Combined Districts 16 and 17 Free Throw Champions
The
annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship for the combined Districts
took place Saturday, February 23, 2008. The competitors were from Campbell and
Kenton counties. The competition is for boys and girls from ages 10 through 14.
The winners competed for the best of 25 free throws. Congratulations to all our
competitors and a special invitation to the Commonwealth of Kentucky Knights of
Columbus state competition is extended to our champions pictured at right:
Other suggested activities
include:
- Form and sponsor or reactivate the SQUIRES
Program in your council.
- Participate in the Basketball Free Throw
Contest.
- Sponsor a weekend retreat or day of
recollection for the youth of your church or community.
- Start or continue a scholarship fund to
provide or defray the tuition of a worth student.
- Establish and provide guidance to a toy
repair center. The repaired toys can be distributed to the needy or
handicapped children. Have your teenagers assist in this effort.
- Volunteer your leadership with a Boy Scout,
Girl Scout, 4-H, Little League, or other similar program.
- Conduct Halloween, Christmas, and Easter
parties for children in your community.
- Sponsor an essay, speech or poster contest.
- Offer your council's services for Special
Olympic Competitions.
- Hold youth Masses throughout the year to
show support in your church community.
