Knights of Columbus - Kentucky State
Council
Community Activities Program
Where ever we live, whether Paducah, Lexington
or Ashland, we all have perceptions of "Community".
Every individual has a voice in
shaping the world around him, and everyone can make that voice heard. Make
your voice heard in your community. Do more than throw your hands up
in despair over what's wrong with the world. Make a difference!
Your community offers limitless
opportunity for action. Look for something that is needed and workable in
your community.
Look for things such as:
Pro-Life
- Organize a strong Pro-Life program.
- Send letters or personally contact your
Chaplain, Pastor and members of the clergy offering whatever assistance they
request in the fight against abortion.
- Promote the March for Life in Washington, DC
every January, and encourage letter writing campaigns to the politicians.
Special Citizens Program
- Actively participate in State programs.
Special emphasis will be placed on the Tootsie Roll Campaigns in the fall.
- Actively participate in the Special
Olympics.
Civic Involvement
- Show concern for schools. Education in
the decades ahead is bound to shape the course of history.
- Find out what your community has in
recreational and cultural opportunities. Ask yourself what it lacks.
Find out what you can do to help.
- Show pride in your country by displaying the
flag proudly. Just about everything that your Council does can be aimed
at your community. Your boundaries are limitless!
