Knights of Columbus - Kentucky State
Council
Council Activities Program
The backbone of any Council is the activities it gets involved in. If it is not present or does not exist in your council, then your Council will die. There are so may ways Council Activities can be accomplished. Listed below are just a few examples:
Public Relations - Newspapers, Bulletin Boards, Visual Aids, etc.
Fraternalism - Make sure new members feel welcomed; introduce the ideal of Name Badges; never fail to give certificates for any special occasion; encourage attendance at all meetings; publish annually a Council directory; spearhead a Columbus Day program.
Social - Conduct an "open house"; sponsor a First Degree in honor of a local priest; have many activities that include the family.
Athletics - Conduct a sports clinic for youngsters; consider sponsoring a team; get involved in the Free Throw Contest.
And there are many other ways you can help your Council to become one of the most active Councils in the State. Every activity you get involved in will make your Council ever so strong in every phase of Columbianism.
Be sure to read carefully the State Service Program Book and the Council Activity Handbook that will be mailed to your council. Remember, if you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact your Council Activities Director at any time.
Fraternalism is the key to any active Council!
