Programming
Good programming prevents poor performance.  Each Faithful Navigator should meet with his team of officers soon after the election and develop a calendar of events.  Improve on your Assembly's weaknesses and build on it's strengths.  Supreme Council publishes a Fourth Degree Program Manual which outlines many ways the Assembly can take part in the preservation and perpetuation of freedom.  This manual is sent to each Faithful Navigator or can easily be obtained by ordering it through the Supreme Council Supply Department, P.O. Box 1670, New Haven, CT 06507-0901.  You can also order posters, supplies, certificates and other materials from the Supply Department.

The following is a representative list of suggestions for programs and activities:

  • Participate in Honor Guards and Color Corps
  • Conduct a Chalice Memorial program
  • Promote the Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP)
  • Distribute membership and recruitment materials
  • Publish an Assembly bulletin
  • Conduct "Know your Community Nights"
  • Initiate essay contests
  • Sponsor "Government Officials Nights"
  • Participate in parades
  • Promote the use of the flag and the Pledge of Allegiance
  • Look into veterans assistance activities
  • Encourage the right to vote
  • Help libraries

Supreme Awards
Supreme Council through the Province and State Master conducts awards programs each year.  The awards are called "To be a Patriot" and "Civic".  The deadline for these awards is June 30.  Applications will be sent to the Assemblies in April.

Qualifications for the Awards

To Be A Patriot
Each Assembly should submit on the application for it's single best patriotic activity during the 2001-2002 fraternal year.  Scrapbooks, photographs, news clippings or other support materials should be included.   The State Master will judge the top activity in the state and submit it to the Vice Supreme Master who will select the best activity in the three state province of Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia and submit it to the Supreme Master.  A committee of judges appointed by the Supreme Master will review the entries and select international winners.  The provincial and international winners will receive attractive awards.

Civic
Each Assembly should submit on the application form four patriotic programs sponsored during the 2001-2002 fraternal year.  A handsome certificate will be awarded to those qualifying Assemblies.  This is not a difficult award to receive and is a tribute to the spirit of patriotism and national pride of your Assembly.
